Irish Whiskey Flavored Frosting for Cupcakes and a Delicious Chocolate Coffee Center

My companeros de trabajo y yo, My co-workers and I decided to have a last hoorah, and  of course, I wanted to make the dessert... due to the fact that I don't have a muffin baking pan in Spain or want to buy one, I had to improvise. In Spain you can buy a bag of 20 Magdalenas for around  1.15 euros (a little more then $1.50), and they look like cupcakes

The Ingredients:
  • 4 or 5 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 cups of butter or margarine
  • 6 tablespoons Irish Whiskey (Baileys, any brand)

Azucar Glace
or as we all know it, Powdered Sugar
Frosting in Spanish = Glaseado

IRish WhisKEy! yum!:
IMPORTANT NOTE: when adding the Irish Whiskey, add a tablespoon at a time, stir completely, and then add the next. If you add all 6 tbsps. at once you will end up with soupy broken up butter frosting!

Margarine or Butter:
I used  margarine, a light margarine

Combine powdered sugar and margarine

ANd You have delicious Irish Whiskey Frosting

For the center:
Cut out a portion of the center of the cupcake (dig a little hole).

Chocolate Coffee Filling:
  • 150 grams, or a whole chocolate bar (large)
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee
- heat up the milk in a sauce pan, on low
- add instant coffee
- chop up the chocolate bar
- add chocolate to the milk until thick
- let it cool in for 20 minutes
- spoon it into the center of the cupcakes or take a plastic bag, scoop all the chocolate into the bag, squeeze toward one of the tips of the chocolate bag, cut off tip with scissors, and add to centers of cupcakes
